Smokies Rally Late to Nip Rattlers
The Tampa Rattlers got a superb performance from pitcher Jackson Sanders, but the Knoxville Smokies still won the game, 7-6. Sanders threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Andy Richardson got the save, his 18th in 21 chances. The Smokies sport a record of 50-83.

Knoxville needed the clutch hitting of Shalin Polanco to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Smokies on top, 7-6. For the game, Polanco had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Polanco.
