Hawks Earn 2-1 Win Versus Blue Magpie
The Tuah Hawks downed the Formosan Blue Magpie, 2-1, at Sun Moon Lake Park. Stellar pitching by Branson Mullowney had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 4th in the HDL in complete games with 1, handcuffed his opponent all game. Tuah reliever Andrew Painter snagged the win, upping his record to 5-2. Luis Reyes shouldered the loss. Glenn Albanese Jr., credited with the save, is now 23 for 26 in save opportunities.

Tuah used the timely hitting of Mike Curiel to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hawks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm happy we won," said Mullowney. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."

The win puts Tuah at 44-73.
