San Diego pitcher Jared Embry did his part in helping his team defeat the Aberdeen Absolutely Free, 2-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The winner was Embry. He threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Tommy Pomegranate. Bobby Doyle got the save, the 24th for him this season.

San Diego used the hitting of Dusty Aldrete to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Seals on top, 2-0. For the game, Aldrete had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
