Stars Pick Up 6-1 Win Against Hemet
|
Wade Wilson was instrumental in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Hemet Bulldogs. The designated hitter was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk for the Nashville Stars. Zach Strickland got the win, improving to 6-8. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 1 and walking 3. Picking up the save was Chris Harris. He's now 2 for 3 in save chances.
Dan Dooman had a big 2-run home run for the Stars in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Nashville leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Luis Burciaga, who signed a 7-year contract worth $106,900,000 on 01/29/2033, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 19th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 4-1.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Stars manager Daniel B. "This one was nice to get."
Nashville is now 34-61. Hemet is 40-55.
