Knoxville Gets Another L
|
The Hemet Bulldogs spoiled a good performance by Knoxville center fielder Tim Olander, bumping off Knoxville, 7-5, at Smokies Stadium. Olander was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Eric Christopherson, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. The slumping Smokies have lost 7 straight.
Hemet used a clutch at-bat from Kaleeq Cager to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Bulldogs ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Cager said after the game.
