Big Sky Loses, 7-5, in 11
|
The Avalon Flying Aces beat the Big Sky Bigfoots, 7-5, in 11 innings. Avalon pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Luis Guerrero led the way. The winner was Sean Schar in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Kiyoshi Nakamura took the loss. With the win, Avalon upped its record to 32-20.
Avalon used the timely hitting of Jeremy Flannery to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Flying Aces on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Guerrero, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
