Lara Gets 5 Hits Saturday, June 10th , 2045 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Ernesto Lara. Lara went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Daytona pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, he had a 5-for-7 line and a day he will long remember. And the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels had a win, 19-5, over the Tortugas. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Ernesto Lara struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. So far this season, Lara is hitting .342 with 6 home runs. |
