Gil Pappas has been in a real groove lately. The 23-year-old Myrtle Beach Pelicans left fielder nabbed Low-A East Player of the Week honors today after beating up on opposing pitchers all last week.
Pappas's hot streak featured 12 hits in 25 at-bats, 4 home runs, 5 RBIs, 7 runs scored and a .480 average.
So far this year, Pappas has hit .298 with 21 home runs, 68 RBIs and 71 runs scored.
