Visalia Blanks Stockton, Ellis Winner Sunday, September 13th , 2043 The bats were ice cold for the Stockton Ports at Banner Island Ballpark. Visalia Rawhide starter Chad Ellis kept the Ports cold all day, shutting them out, 4-0. In a fine outing, the 20-year-old hurler allowed 5 hits while striking out 5 and walking 2. "I'm not quite sure what was different today," Ellis admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves." This year, Ellis has made 13 starts, thrown 79.1 innings, fanned 63 batters and walked 24. His won-lost record is 5-5 with a 3.18 ERA. |
