Blue Jays-Diamondbacks Swap: Prado for Echols Monday, August 10th , 2043 The Toronto Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondbacks have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Toronto will part with 17-year old minor league RHP Mario Prado and 31-year old SS Billy Button, while the Diamondbacks have dealt 27-year old SS Josh Echols. "This one took a while to figure out," said Toronto general manager Jeff Anderson. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs." Toronto will retain a portion of Button's remaining contract. This season, Echols has 7 home runs and a .220 batting average. |
