Astros Win at Chicago, 4-1
|
The Houston Astros downed the Chicago Cubs, 4-1, at Wrigley Field. Stellar pitching by Chris Goldman had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2039 draft, handcuffed his opponent all game. Goldman got the win, improving to 3-0. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Chicago falls to 7-17.
Robby Turner, who is tied for 9th in the AL in triples with 1, had a direct impact on the outcome. Turner contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Houston up, 3-1.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Goldman told the Houston Observer.
