Astros Come Up Short at Washington, 3-2
|
The Houston Astros went down to defeat to Danny Larios and his Washington teammates. The final score was 3-2, in favor of the Nationals. In 7 innings, Larios surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Jonathon Phillip collected his 5th save.
Washington got a big at-bat from Los Botados, Dominican Republic native Manny Salas, who in the bottom of the third hit a run-scoring double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Nationals ahead, 3-0.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Larios.
The Nationals, now 14-7, have played some good baseball in the early going.
