Dodgers Get One-Run Win at Chicago
|
Jose Nunez, who finished 2nd in the AL in innings pitched with 225.0 in 2035, had a strong outing for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Nunez, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Ron Andracki recorded the save, his 3rd.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Steve Connor? The 28-year old shortstop Connor stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Los Angeles up, 4-0. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Jose had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Los Angeles manager Bobby K.
The win takes Los Angeles to 6-3.
