Astros Win at Home, 4-1
|
Houston starter Ethan Ziemba pitched well against the Toronto Blue Jays at Minute Maid Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. Ziemba got the win, improving to 1-0. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. The save was credited to Javon Davenport, his 2nd.
Houston second baseman Robby Turner contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a circle change to left field for a 2-run single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Astros ahead, 4-0.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Ziemba. "Successful pitchers do it."
Houston goes to 4-2.
