Guardians Reel Off Another Win
|
Cleveland and Nashville took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
In a low-scoring contest, Cleveland pitcher Kenny Higgins was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. Higgins, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 1 run.
The Guardians got a big at-bat from catcher Jeff Seefeldt. For the game, Seefeldt was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Cleveland a 2-0 lead.
"Kenny didn't fool around out there," said Cleveland field general Brian L.
Cleveland now has a record of 83-70 with the win.
