Rock 'Em! Sock 'Em! Favela Blasts 3 Homers in Minnesota Win
|
Minnesota center fielder Eli Favela picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Detroit Tigers, 3-2. Erik bin Shareef, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8. His record now stands at 8-8. With the win, the Twins have a record of 63-83.
Minnesota took a 3-1 lead on Favela's 7th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Jean Luis Welsh in the top of the seventh, propelled Minnesota to the win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Favela told a Minnesota Times reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
