Blue Jays Victors, 5-3, at Nashville
|
The Toronto Blue Jays overcame a good performance by Nashville second baseman Tim Jackson to knock off Nashville, 5-3, at First Horizon Ballpark. Jackson was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Toronto starter Sean Greene was credited with the win after throwing 98 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 9-11. At 80-59, the Blue Jays have a slim two-game lead in the American League East Division.
Toronto used a big swing from Kevin Bliss to get the win. The designated hitter walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Blue Jays up, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"I still think this team can play even better," Bliss told the Toronto Today.
