Nationals Snatch Late-Game, 6-5 Win
|
The Washington Nationals knocked off the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-5, at Citizens Bank Park. It took 10 innings. Mike Neal was a prime reason Washington won. The catcher went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jonathon Phillip notched his 31st save of the season. The Nationals have an impressive 80-45 record.
Josh Brody was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs against the Phillies. With the game tied in the top of the tenth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Washington in front, 6-5.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Washington manager Joe D.
