Mariners Rally For Late Win Over Pirates
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Seattle Mariners and Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pittsburgh Pirates got a sterling performance from pitcher Chris Palmer, but the Seattle Mariners still prevailed, 7-5. Palmer threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Justin Pleasant snagged the win in relief. He goes to 5-4 on the season. Jared Pagano suffered the loss. Jim Hudson picked up the save, his 8th.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Bobby Jenkins came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Pittsburgh pitcher Jared Pagano, he hit a 0-1 curveball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Seattle on top, 7-5.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Jenkins.

Seattle bumps their record to 67-58 with the win.
