The Washington Nationals beat the San Francisco Giants, 5-2. Washington pitcher and Coral Springs, Florida, native Ben Chalker led the way. Chalker, the winner, moves to 2-1. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 1 walk. Jesus Castillo closed the game out for Washington, earning his 4th save.
Chris Caballero helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Nationals.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Washington manager Joe D.
With the win, the Nationals improved to 69-49.
