Mets Take Down Angels, 7-6
|
In the 7-6 New York win over Los Angeles, the impact of Jonathan Belk was substantial. Belk, who is a three-time All-Star, belted 2 home runs. The win went to Jake Graham in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Jeff Conley took the loss. New York, now 57-55, holds down 4th place in the National League East Division.
New York used a clutch at-bat from David Carrillo to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mets ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Carrillo.
