Tigers Roll to 8-1 Win Over Guardians
|
Comerica Park was the site for American League action featuring the Cleveland Guardians and Detroit Tigers.
Behind a fine performance from Josh McMahon, the Detroit Tigers knocked off the Cleveland Guardians, 8-1. McMahon was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Tigers. Barry Hart was the winner. He's now 2-6. The loser was fan favorite Tony Wyman.
McMahon had a big hit for Detroit with one out in the bottom of the eighth. With Detroit leading 4-1, McMahon hit a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Tigers up, 8-1.
"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said Cleveland manager Brian L.
The third-place Tigers now have a record of 41-53.
