Giants Edge Braves, 4-3
|
San Francisco and Atlanta duked it out and the Giants came out victorious.
Atlanta got a decent performance from pitcher Jim Stewart, but it wasn't enough to beat the San Francisco Giants. San Francisco won the Truist Park contest, 4-3. Stewart threw 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Josh Crisp, the winning pitcher, is now 12-4. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 2. Andy Arredondo earned his 2nd save in 3 chances.
Brendan Eitreim had a direct impact on the outcome. Eitreim contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-2.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Eitreim.
The loss makes Atlanta 37-47.
