Warner Leads Houston to 3-1 Win
|
Joel Warner was superb against Cleveland. The left-hander, who is tied for 8th in the AL with a 10.0 K/9 rate, had a cutter that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Astros victory. The score was 3-1. Picking up his 10th save was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Goldman. The Astros are now 31-35, while the Guardians fall to 34-29.
Warner made it look effortless. He scattered 1 hit over 6 innings, while racking up 9 strikeouts. The Houston left-hander encountered little resistance from the Cleveland hitters. His season record is now 2-5.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Warner.
