Rangers Suffer 6-0 Home Defeat
|
The Cleveland Guardians picked up a win at Globe Life Field, topping the Texas Rangers, 6-0. On the mound for Cleveland was right-hander Mike Engelhardt. He played a principal role in the triumph. This win makes it 6 in a row for Cleveland.
Ezekiel Weaver had a big run-scoring double for the Guardians in the top of the fifth inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a splitter from Brendan Barkley, who is tied for 9th in the AL in innings pitched with 68.0, and swatted a double to center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Guardians ahead, 2-0.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Dave Hammertime told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
