The Lake Elsinore Storm will continue the trek towards a Round 2 title, while the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are headed home for the season.

Lake Elsinore won the Round 1 with a clinching game 9-2 victory at LoanMart Field, concluding the series at 4-1.

"We didn't want this thing to go any further, that's for sure," Chris Immel said after officially being named series MVP.

He turned in a dominant offensive performance to win the award, with a .500 batting average, .625 on-base percentage, 3 home runs, 8 RBI and 9 runs scored.

The Lake Elsinore Storm will play against the Stockton Ports in the next round. Stockton won their series against the Modesto Nuts 4 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
