Another Day, Another Win for Reds
|
Cincinnati and San Francisco duked it out and the Reds came out victorious.
The Cincinnati Reds beat the San Francisco Giants, 5-3, at Oracle Park. Cincinnati pitcher Joe Hurley had the hot bat. He threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs. In 7.2 innings, Hurley surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs.
Cincinnati needed the clutch hitting of Chad Shuey to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reds on top, 5-2. For the game, Shuey had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"Feels good to get the job done," Hurley said after the game.
Cincinnati is now 27-12, 9 games up in the National League Central Division.
