Blue Jays Win Nail-Biter
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Detroit Tigers, Danny Thomas was the X factor. The Toronto left-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Ben Tau picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Bobby Geoghegan suffered the loss. Detroit's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Toronto got a knockout punch from Ron Bupp. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Thomas.
