Cardinals Sunk by Brewers
|
The Milwaukee Brewers had to overcome a big game from St. Louis shortstop T.J. Helmstetter to leave American Family Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-4. Helmstetter went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Brewers improved their record to 16-17 with the win over St. Louis.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from third baseman Jose Guzman. For the game, Guzman was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Milwaukee a 6-3 lead.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Milwaukee manager Kevin Smith.
