Win Makes Mariners 20-13
|
Ezequiel Ruiz pitched a gem to lead Seattle to victory over the Houston Astros, 3-1. Ruiz picked up the win for Seattle, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1. Justin Pleasant notched his 5th save of the season.
Seattle used a clutch at-bat from Alex Zarate to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mariners ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Zarate. "And not try to do too much."
The win gives Seattle a season record of 20-13.
