Marseille Snaps Renberg Streak at 21 Sunday, August 29th , 2055 Köping left fielder Arvid Renberg came into today's game against the Marseille Marsupials on a hot streak. He left on a cold one. The Marsupials did their jobs well, beating the Köping Seawolves, 5-3, and holding Renberg hitless to snap his 21-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old left fielder had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-2, telling reporters only that he "came up short." "What Arvid did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Seawolves manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 21 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play." Renberg is hitting .306 this year with 6 home runs and 32 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .351, 11 walks and scored 24 times. |
