Liechtenstein Snaps Palladio Streak at 23
Thursday, May 15th , 2053
For once, it was the Liverpool A Buccaneers picking up the slack for Dionisio Palladio.
The club's "offensive catalyst," as Liverpool A manager Keith Arnott has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent and saw his 23-game hitting streak snapped by the Liechtenstein Princes. Palladio was bailed out by the rest of the Buccaneers, however, who stopped the Princes, 12-6.
The 22-year-old center fielder finished the day 0-for-4, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me."
"Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow."
Palladio has a .350 average and a .426 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 43 hits, 2 home runs and driven in 22 runs.

Schramm Goes 6-for-8
Wednesday, May 14th , 2053
Even as a kid, Gunter Schramm said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Boomers Stadium, Schramm showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 20-year-old first baseman had 6 hits in 8 at-bats for the Madrid A Boomers, helping his team knock off the Budapest A Flight by a score of 31-5.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Gunter Schramm singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 8th.
Schramm is batting .370 this season in 34 games with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has 50 hits in 135 at-bats.

Mueller on Fire: 5-for-6 for Madrid A
Wednesday, May 14th , 2053
It was a sensational day at the plate for Earnest Mueller as he led the charge to a nifty 31-5 win over the Flight. The Madrid A second baseman was pure misery for the Budapest A pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Mueller put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said César Sepos, manager for the Flight, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Earnest Mueller hit a two-run triple in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, walked in a run in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Currently Mueller is hitting .347 and has collected 7 home runs, 36 RBIs and scored 21 times, while playing in 31 games.
