Ckrebic Hits for the Cycle Thursday, May 15th , 2053 It was a special day for Rajko Ckrebic at Rasmiresti Stadium. Not only did Ckrebic's Izmir Blue Devils beat the Pushkarivka Rocketmen, 32-5, but the left fielder hit for the cycle along the way. The 20-year-old Ckrebic racked up 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name in the record books. For the game, he went 5-for-6 with 7 RBI and 5 runs scored. "He hit everything we threw," said Rocketmen manager Harris Maddock. "There was just no getting him out today." Speaking to the press after the game, Ckrebic said his goal for the day had been to look for "first pitch fastballs." "I got some good looks today," he said. Rajko Ckrebic singled in the 1st, hit a two-run triple in the 2nd, walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Cameron Stockley in the 8th. Ckrebic has collected 20 hits for the Blue Devils this year, 2 of them home runs. He has also netted 19 RBIs and scored 11 runs while batting .202. |
