EB Names Newcomer of the Month

May was a special time for Bucharest hurler, Willie Echeverri. It was such a good month that the Eastern Bloc picked him the league's #1 newcomer and awarded him the Rookie of the Month trophy.
Last month the 23-year-old starter roared through the EB with 4 wins and no losses and a 1.95 ERA as he struck out 20 in 37 innings and held opponents to a .225 batting average.
In 10 starts this year, Echeverri has recorded a 4-3 record and a 2.72 ERA.

WB Best Rookie Award Announced

In 6 starts 23-year-old Kennedy Davis really put together an impressive May to win the Western Bloc Rookie of the Month honor.
The Istanbul starter spun 4 wins and 1 loss as he posted a 3.24 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 41.2 innings.
In 12 starts this season, Davis has compiled a 6-3 record and a 2.91 ERA.

Bullpen Ace Wins Best EB Pitcher

Most of the time the starting pitchers get the glory, but not this month. A reliever, Marco Lopez, has been named the Pitcher of the Month in the Eastern Bloc.
In May, the Vienna bullpen ace starred with 5 saves in 13 relief appearances, logging 16 innings, 22 strikeouts, 7 walks and a 0.00 ERA. Lopez finished the month with 3 wins and no losses -- and captured the trophy as the league's number one pitcher.
In 24 relief appearances this season, Lopez has chalked up 11 saves with 36 strikeouts in 27.1 innings, 4-1 won-lost mark and a 0.99 earned run average.
