Platina Clouts 2 Homers in 10-3 Athens Win
|
Athens left fielder Aldo Platina contributed significantly to his team's 10-3 win over the Helsinki Northern Lights. Platina went 4 for 4 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Olympians. The Olympians improved their record to 37-41 by beating Helsinki.
Lucas Greve had a big 3-run home run for the Olympians in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Athens trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a splitter from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Antosha Engver and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Olympians on top, 4-2.
"We did the things that it takes to win a game," said Platina.
