Olympians Drop 3-1 Decision
|
Monaco turned a good effort from starter Marco Lowe into a win over the Athens Olympians at Munching Grounds. The final score was 3-1. Lowe got the win, improving to 5-0. He gave up 6 hits and walked 0 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Samir Davitishvili earned the save, his 25th in 25 tries.
The Mashers got a big at-bat from designated hitter Rudjer Mirkovic. For the game, Mirkovic was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Monaco a 3-1 lead.
"Marco -- I just love the competitor in him," said Mashers manager Grab Stir.
