The Budapest Devils faced a tenacious opponent in Helsinki pitcher Richard Chauveau, but still scratched out a win at Northern Lights Grounds by a final score of 6-5 in 14 innings. Chauveau went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The Eastern Bloc South-leading Devils are 39-27.

It could have been a different outcome for Budapest, had it not been for Thomas Arnaud, the 24-year old left fielder . Arnaud contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 14th inning to put Budapest up, 6-5.

"If you're not prepared, it's not pressure you feel, it's fear," mused Budapest manager Clif Maestro.
