Northern Lights Get Dramatic 6-4 Win
|
The Edinburgh Highlanders got a superb performance from pitcher Aybars Rüstü, but the Helsinki Northern Lights still won the game, 6-4. Rüstü threw 8.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Northern Lights a record of 21-39.
The decisive blow was delivered by Roman John in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 2-run home run off fireballing 6' 7" left-hander Wendel Cooper to win the game for Helsinki. The home crowd went nuts.
"This place sure got loud," said Awesome Mike, the Helsinki manager.
