Mashers Net 9-4 Win Over Highlanders
The Monaco Mashers beat the Edinburgh Highlanders, 9-4. Monaco pitcher and San Giorgio Ionico, Italy, native Nari Fresi led the way. Fortunato Merici got credit for the save for Monaco. It was his 1st of the year. Monaco, at 28-31, occupies second place in the Eastern Bloc Central.

Seyhan Tansel had a big run-scoring double for the Mashers in the top of the third inning. With Monaco leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from Namig Agamaliyev and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mashers ahead, 2-0.

Monaco manager Grab Stir commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
