2049 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Istanbul Janissaries.

Istanbul got a decent performance from pitcher Mikhail Ahiezer, but it wasn't enough to beat the Berlin Bats. Berlin won the die Hohle contest, 6-4. Ahiezer threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Eustace Prevalakis was the winner. Over 7 innings, he yielded 4 runs on 8 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.

Berlin took a 5-4 lead on Julien Raoul's 29th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Raoul hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Istanbul pitcher Pyotr Sahapov visibly frustrated.

"Winning never gets dull," said Raoul.

With the win, Berlin upped its record to 82-66.
