Angell Poniros, who is tied for 2nd in the EB in complete games with 1, was in top form in a tight contest between Vienna and Monaco. The Sausages right-hander helped his team beat the Mashers, 3-1. Poniros got the win, improving to 6-1. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. The second-place Mashers have lost 4 consecutive games.
Rashid Shalikov chipped in a 2-run home run for Vienna in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
