Janissaries 9-5 Winners Over Porto
The Istanbul Janissaries defeated the Porto Winos by the score of 9-5. Witoslaw Sikorski starred for Istanbul, going 2-for-4 with 1 home run. Sergei Lovenetsky was the winner. He's now 8-9. The loser was 11-year veteran Onorato Ruffo. Istanbul, at 69-72, holds down third place in the Western Bloc South.

With Istanbul trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Sikorski hit a slider from Onorato Ruffo for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Janissaries ahead, 4-3.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Sikorski told the Istanbul Daily News.
