Conquerers Beat Rome, 4-3
|
A 3-RBI performance from left fielder Witoslaw Sikorski, who is on pace for 102 RBI this season, led the Madrid Conquerers to a win over the Rome Wolves, 4-3. The winner in relief was Éric Blanc. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-1. Fernando Bedon picked up the save for Madrid, his 1st of the year.
Sikorski had a timely hit for Madrid in the top of the eighth. With Madrid trailing 3-2, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Madrid.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sikorski.
