Sausages Dump Krakow, 10-5, to Win 4th in a Row
|
Vienna center fielder Evan Protopsaltis contributed significantly to his team's 10-5 win over the Krakow Lions. Protopsaltis, who is tied for 3rd in the EB in home runs with 15, went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Sausages. Gerard Partyka, the winner, is now 5-1. He struck out 4 and walked 2 over 6 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 8 hits. The Sausages, at 33-16, have now won 4 straight.
With Vienna leading 4-3 in the top of the sixth, Protopsaltis hit a sinker from Aleksandr Minasyan for a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Sausages ahead, 6-3.
"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Vienna skipper sharksorbet Smith.
