BMDs Suffer 6-3 Home Loss
|
A good performance from third baseman Tony Rabago helped the Edinburgh Highlanders defeat the Birmingham BMDs, 6-3. Rabago was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles for the Highlanders. Edinburgh reliever Samuel Soderblom picked up the win, raising his record to 2-1. Lysandra Meletoglou was tagged with the loss. The Highlanders now have a record of 19-19.
Edinburgh used the timely hitting of Albert Whittaker to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Highlanders on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We scored more than enough runs this time," said Edinburgh manager Zappcz Smith. "Now watch. The next game we'll probably struggle to get a base hit."
