					| Istanbul Sunk by Cork, 4-1 |
					| Alphonse Sarretti, who finished 2nd in the WB in strikeouts with 215 in 2055, pitched well, but the Istanbul Janissaries still fell short, losing, 4-1, to the Cork Poppers at Constantinople. The winner was Georg Bittner in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Alphonse Sarretti took the loss. Istanbul now is 15-14.
The Poppers got a big at-bat from right fielder Antonio Solorio. For the game, Solorio went 1-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Cork a 2-0 lead.

Solorio said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
