Waves Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Mashers, 3-1
|
The Warsaw Waves got a magnificent effort from pitcher Alphonse Sarretti, who kept Monaco hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Waves win at Munching Grounds. The Mashers fall to 7-9 and continue their lackluster start to the 2049 season.
Derry Prentice delivered a big hit for Warsaw. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Waves ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Prentice told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
