Rivers Fall Short at Czech, 5-4
|
The Czech Swings managed to get by the Crimea Rivers, 5-4, in 11 innings at Jan Hus Memorial Stadium. Czech pitcher Klaas Kamstra set himself apart with his performance. The winner was Edgar Monticelli in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Jurgen Miller took the loss. Now 1-11, the 2054 Rivers have sputtered in the early going.
The Swings got a clutch hit from catcher Ivan Escalante. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Swings.
