Wolves Slap 3-1 Loss on Janissaries
|
The Rome Wolves earned a close win over the Istanbul Janissaries, thanks in part to Sashenka Znamensky. The Rome left-hander, who led the WB in wins with 20 in 2042, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. The 'W' lifts Rome's record to 67-38.
Rome used the hitting of Mattia Marinara to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Wolves on top, 3-0. For the game, Marinara had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Marinara.
