Paris Victorious, 6-2, Versus Rome
|
The Paris Monks rode a solid performance from 25-year-old starting pitcher Alex Ernst to a win, beating the Rome Wolves, 6-2, at Colosseum. Paris is now 36-49, Rome 56-29.
Paris used the clutch hitting of Charlie Recarte to snag the win. The third baseman drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Monks ahead, 6-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Even if things get a little hairy, Alex trusts his ability," said Paris manager mendicant zero.
